Very frequently we hear that it is hard to learn these days. There is too much to learn, too much to know, while too many resources (books, Internet, etc.) overwhelm us.

There is a way out of this! WikiPedia the free-content encyclopedia that anyone can edit. Anyone can use Wikipedia as a learning tool using controlled vocabulary.

  • Review weekly your email communications or other paper work
  • Make a list of words, meanings of which you do not truly understand
  • Ask your capable coworker or a friend to organize these words in sets that are related together
  • Select one set of related words (controlled vocabulary)
  • Read about what the words mean in Wikipedia

This approach gets one into practice of learning. No need to buy books. No need to be overwhelmed with junk found elsewhere on the Internet. Wikipedia is a great resource, but you might use the same approach with other reliable sources of information.

We are collecting controlled vocabularies for the areas of software engineering and information technology.
