On this page I will list some of the ways to defeat Bots I know about. Please let me know if there are others spells against Bots that are out there.

Captcha (against all Bots)
A CAPTCHA (an acronym for "completely automated public Turing test to tell computers and humans apart", trademarked by Carnegie Mellon University) is a type of challenge-response test used in computing to determine whether or not the user is human.

PWNtcha (against all Captcha's)
PWNtcha is software designed to crack Captcha. PWNtcha stands for "Pretend We're Not a Turing Computer but a Human Antagonist", as well as PWN capTCHAs. This project's goal is to demonstrate the inefficiency of many captcha implementations.

Gaim Bot Sentry (against Chat Bot)
Gaim Bot Sentry is a Gaim plugin to prevent Instant Message (IM) spam. You define a question and an answer. IMs will be ignored unless the sender is in your Buddy List, the sender is in your Allow List, or the sender correctly answers your question.

SandTrap
A CGI program that can trap malicious robots (spambots) that spider your website, provide an infinite list of false email addresses, and block access from the bot's ip address.

SpyWare (?)
SpyWare is used to track variety of activities user performs in the browser. So what are they tracking? Lots of thing including: Exit and Entry Pages, Page Impressions, Path Analysis, Unique Visitors, Host Summary, Unique User Sessions, Browser and Operating System, Page Durations, Java/CGI Breakdown, Session Durations, Referring URL, Country of Access, Referring Domain, Reach, Period Page Impressions, Visitor Frequency, Internal and External Referring URL, Loyalty.
